The 2024 project called for a 12 × 12 metre outdoor banner for a stadium in Auckland, New Zealand. At 144 square metres, it needed to present its artwork at the scale of the ground, not at the scale of a small sign.
There was another part to the job: children regularly slid down the banner on game days. That repeated contact put it under more wear than an ordinary display.
Hecho para uso repetido
We made the banner from reinforced 510gsm PVC. The material choice responded to the way it would be used as well as where it would be displayed.
The artwork still needed to read from across the ground, while the banner itself had to accommodate the repeated game-day sliding described in the brief. Both the size and the material were central to the finished product.
Dos temporadas en uso
The banner remained in use across two seasons. The material wore over time, but the artwork stayed visible.
That distinction is part of the project’s story: this was not an untouched display. It was an outdoor banner that saw repeated physical use, and continued carrying its artwork through that wear.
